Change the Pi IP Address
If your router doesn't allow you to "reserve" an IP address within its DHCP range, you will need to do the following:Choose an IP address ending in something lower than 100, with the first three numbers the same, and assign that to the Pi's MAC address. Power-cycle the Pi... in general, at this point, simply power-cycling the Pi should not hurt anything, and upon reboot, the Router will assign that new IP address.
Do the same for your Television IP address, choosing a different number.
You should end up with something similar to this:
192.168.0.24
As with the Pi, you may need to restart your Television after changing its IP
address in the Router.
You should UNPLUG the Television, wait a few seconds and plug it back in; this will ensure that the Network/WiFi restarts.
In any case, Write Down the IP Address now assigned to your Raspberry Pi and TV. This will be needed in future steps.
You can now proceed to Step 3, logging into the Pi.
