Steering Wheel Control Interface

In this project, we created an Arduino Nano-based Interface that allows you to retain your Steering Wheel stereo buttons with an Aftermarket Stereo.

Obviously this doesn't work on ALL cars or stereos, but watch the video... you might be surprised at how easy this can be.

Products Used in This Project

Note: All Product Links below are Amazon Affiliate links. Using my links helps my channel, and doesn't add anything to your price.

Arduino Nano (just pick an inexpensive clone from the search results, I use the ELEGOO ones):

The infamous "Black Box" project box

"T-Tap" wire connector assortment

Adjustable mini Buck regulator

Single-sided "perf board" PCB board assortment

Transistor Assortment

Resistor Assortment

Hook-up wire kit, different colors

Most of the above items are components I use for many projects; assortment packs ensure you always have what you need, when you need it...

Code (Arduino IDE "Sketches")

The main sketch is for the actual Interface:

I also made a really simple Arduino sketch to capture IR codes, and convert them into a format you can paste into the above sketch:

Be sure to watch the Full Video, and check out the Pictures of the breadboarding for this IR Capture project.
